April Banigan - Marjorie

April is over the moon to be making her ATP debut in Nick Green’s beautiful play. Theatre credits include The Last Train, Boston Marriage (Shadow Theatre), Blood Oranges, Silence (Northern Light Theatre), My One and Only (Workshop West Theatre), See How They Run (Mayfield Theatre), The Constant Wife, A Christmas Carol, Death of a Salesman, The Silver Arrow (Citadel Theatre), and Fever Land (Teatro Live!). TV credits include Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Street Justice, Media Sense, and the upcoming series Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey. She received a Rosie Award nomination for her performance in the feature film A Louder Silence (Imagination Films). She voices video game characters in the Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age and Neverwinter Nights. She directed the narration of the CBC TV series’ The Perfect Runner, The Great Human Odyssey and Equus; story of the horse. With her own company, DogHeart Theatre, she directed You Are Happy and The Cabin on Bald Dune. April appeared in the North American premiere of Mischief Theatre’s Peter Pan Goes Wrong at Citadel Theatre with a subsequent run at Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre. Nathan Cuckow - Thomas

Nathan is an actor, writer and producer based in Edmonton. They are a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC). Some of their favourite credits include: 10 Funerals (Shadow Theatre), Passion Play (Wild Side Productions), In on It (Theatre Network), Alice Through the Looking Glass (Citadel Theatre), King Lear / The Tempest (Freewill Shakespeare), Victor and Victoria’s Terrifying Tale of Terrible Things (Kill Your Television Theatre), STANDupHOMO (High Performance Rodeo), and BASH’d! A Gay Rap Opera (Off-Broadway). Nathan is a proud recipient of a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding New York Theatre and an Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role. They are ecstatic to be making their debut at Alberta Theatre Projects.



Emily Howard - Diana

Emily Howard is a Calgary-based actor and is beyond thankful to be a part of this story and to be sharing it with this city. Helen Knight - Pauline

Helen is honoured to return to Alberta Theatre Projects this season for Casey and Diana. Her previous ATP credits include Liars At a Funeral, The Wedding Party, The Virgin Trial, and The Last Wife - with the latter two garnering her Betty Mitchell Awards. Helen has also worked with Theatre Calgary (Meteor Shower), Soulpepper Theatre (The Virgin Trial), Vertigo Theatre (Sleuth; Murder in the Studio), Lunchbox Theatre (Last Christmas, A Good Marriage), and The Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Comedy of Errors). Norma Lewis - Vera

Norma Lewis is pleased to return to the ATP Stage for Casey and Diana. Her previous ATP credits include Charlotte’s Web (2024) and Selma Burke (in co-production with Theatre Calgary). She was most recently seen in the co-production of Romeo and Juliet by The Shakespeare Company and Calgary Young People’s Theatre. Additional stage work includes Mary Stuart with Sage Theatre, and Steel Magnolias and To Kill a Mockingbird with Theatre Calgary. As co-founder of 8Rojo, a creative collective dedicated to innovative and distinctive theatrical experiences, Norma has produced, co-created, and performed in original works showcased on international stages in Reykjavik, London, Stockholm, Taipei, and Mexico City. Norma also enjoys touring Dandi Productions’ The Twins and the Monster across Canada and the United States.



Josh Travnik - Andre

Josh is an Edmonton-based actor and singer and is thrilled to make his Alberta Theatre Projects debut! Recent credits include Final Girl: A New Musical (Straight Edge Theatre), Songs My Mother Never Sung Me (Concrete Theatre), Everybody Goes To Mitzi’s! (Teatro Live!), 10 Funerals (Shadow Theatre), and Sweeney Todd (Plain Jane Theatre). Josh received Sterling Award nominations for his performances in Conjoined with Straight Edge Theatre, and as Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show (Grindstone Theatre). Other credits include Evil Dead: The Musical, Bat Boy, Ordinary Days, The Wind and the Rain, Witts: Ballad of Queer Cowboys, Cinderella, Scenes from the Sidewalk and Pinocchio. Josh is also half of the pop-duo Homofonik with Daniel Belland; their music is available on all major streaming services.

Nick Green - Playwright

Nick is a Dora Mavor Moore, Heritage Toronto, Elizabeth Sterling Haynes, and Tom Hendry award winning playwright and book writer based in Toronto. Nick’s play Casey and Diana premiered with a sold-out run at the Stratford Festival of Canada in 2023 before transferring to Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto. In the 2024/25 season, Casey and Diana has been one of the most produced plays in Canada, with productions at The Arts Club Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Theatre Aquarius, and Neptune Theatre. 2025/26 productions include Yes Theatre, The Citadel Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Unicorn Theatre, and American Players Theatre. Casey and Diana was the recipient of the 2024 Critic’s Choice Award and the Heritage Toronto Public History Award, and nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award, Outstanding New Play. Dinner with the Duchess is a tense 80 minute three-hander that explores themes of legacy, forgiveness, and sexism. The play had a developmental production in the 2018 Next Stage Festival before enjoying a 2024 production with Here for Now and Crow’s Theatre. Dr Silver, a dark new musical for which Nick is the book writer (with composers Anika Johnson and Britta Johnson), was showcased for the second time at California’s South Coast Repertory as a part of their Pacific Playwrights Festival in 2023. Nick’s play Body Politic, which explores the legacy of one of Canada’s first LGBT Publications, was co-produced by Buddies in Bad Times and lemonTree Creations, and won the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play, General Theatre Division, and has been published by Playwrights Canada Press. Every Day She Rose, a play about the Black Lives Matter protest at Toronto Pride, co-written with Andrea Scott has enjoyed productions by Nightwood Theatre, Black Theatre Workshop, Here for Now Theatre, and ZeeZee Theatre. Other favourite credits include In Real Life (book, MSC); Happy Birthday Baby J (Shadow Theatre); Poof! The Musical (Capitol Theatre); and Coffee Dad, Chicken Mom, and the Fabulous Buddha Boi, a solo show about coming out, the production of which won three Elizabeth Sterling Haynes awards. Lana Michelle Hughes - Director

Lana is thrilled to be making her ATP debut! She is an award-nominated director, actor, playwright, sound designer, and producer based in Edmonton. She is currently Co-Artistic Director of Edmonton’s Shadow Theatre and will officially transition into the role of Artistic Director this summer. Her work has been seen throughout Western Canada and she previously served as Managing Director at Catalyst Theatre for six years, where she produced films, soundtracks, and large-scale musical productions that toured nationally.
Selected directing credits include Morningside Road and Robot Girls (Shadow Theatre), Nightshrine (Workshop West), Jack & the Beanstalk (Alberta Musical Theatre Company), The Remarkably True, Real Life Adventures of Callie Montgomery (Promise Productions/Skirts of Fire Festival), Encounters (Citadel Theatre), Bust ’Em Up Burlesque (Send in the Girls Burlesque/Citadel Theatre), Winnie Gertsky: Champion Off Ice (Theatre SKAM), and Tudor Queens: A Burlesque (Send in the Girls Burlesque). Lana is profoundly honoured to be at the helm of this work and dedicates it to the mentors she never met, the art, brilliance, and full, unapologetic lives lost to this disease, and to the caregivers and loved ones who held them.



Alissa Watson - Assistant Director

An adventurous prairie artist and educator from Treaty 1 Territory, Alissa is an alumna of Brandon University (B. Mus/B. Ed) and holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Alberta. As an actor, she has performed with the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Shakespeare in the Ruins, and Manitoba Theatre for Young People. She is also a founding member of the clown duo, The Red Nose Diaries, and Winnipeg’s all-female bouffon ensemble, The Talentless Lumps. Alissa’s directing work is inspired by her passions for physical theatre, music, and comedy. Her adaptation of Robert Munsch’s The Paper Bag Princess will be presented at Carousel Theatre for Young People in Vancouver this spring. Alissa also sings and plays washboard with the sweet and cheeky Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir. Alissa is thrilled to be part of this incredible team – much gratitude to Lana, Alberta Theatre Projects, and the Citadel for this mentorship opportunity.



Morgan Yamada - Fight/Intimacy Director

Morgan Yamada (she/her) works as an actor and fight and intimacy director with theatres across Canada and has been a member of multiple award-winning ensembles. She is so excited to be back at ATP working with this incredible cast, crew, and creative team. Selected Theatre Credits:

Hanne Loosen - Set Design

For ATP: Hanne has previously designed set and costume for In Wonderland and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Set Design credits for The Seafarer, Selma Burke, Teenage Dick, Bombay Black, Stealing Sam and costumes for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Zorro: Family Code, Constellations and To The Light. For The Citadel she designed the set for A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The ‘70s Musical. Hanne is a set and costume designer living and working in Calgary. She grew up in Belgium and got a BA from the Academy of Visual Arts Maastricht in The Netherlands and an MA in Scenography at the Technical University Berlin. In Calgary, she has worked with Theatre Calgary, Vertigo Theatre, The Shakespeare Company, Calgary Opera, Verb Theatre, Lunchhox Theatre, Ghost River and others. Rebecca Toon - Costume Design

An award winning professional costume designer for film and theatre, Rebecca’s select credits include: Communion, Buyer and Cellar (Alberta Theatre Projects), Legally Blonde (Theatre Calgary), Heist, Misery (Vertigo Theatre), The Dark Lady, Brave Girl (Lunchbox Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, Richard III (The Shakespeare Company), Avenue Q, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago (Stage West). Most recent film work includes: Brother, Witches X, The Lily & The Scorpion, Suzy Makes Cupcakes, Gaby Time and What’s the Word for which Rebecca was honoured with a CAFTCAD award for Excellence in Costume Design. Emmy Nominated for her work as an Assistant Designer on The Last of Us, Rebecca splits her time between film and theatre.



Whittyn Jason - Lighting Design

Whittyn Jason (they/them) is a queer and mixed-race artist of South African and Ukrainian heritage who primarily lives and works in amiskwacîwâskahikan (colonially known as Edmonton, Alberta) as an award-winning lighting designer and scenographer. Their work has been featured across the country and as far as the Czech Republic. They have worked on over 60 productions for theatre, dance, and alternative performance in the role of designer with a focus on interactive, site-specific projects and new work development. Select credits include: Little Women (Citadel Theatre); Kaldrsaga (Cardiac Theatre); and The Hooves Belonged to the Deer (In Arms Theatre Collective/Tarragon Theatre). Upcoming credits include Love and Rage (Major Matt Mason Collective). In addition to practicing as a designer as a member of ADC, they are the Festival Director of Found Festival (Common Ground Arts), and Co-Artistic Leadership at Major Matt Mason Collective. Allison Lynch - Composition & Sound Design

Allison Lynch is a Calgary-based actor, composer, sound-designer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, musical Director and voice artist. Allison has performed on stages across Canada and internationally, including the Stratford Festival, the National Arts centre, Theatre Calgary, The Drayton Festival, the Arts Club, ATP, Rainbow Stage, Vertigo, The Shakespeare Company, The Grand and many more, and as a soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic and The Malaysian Symphony Orchestra. With 30+ composing/sound designing credits across Canada from Stratford to the Belfry, Allison also scores for film, TV and documentaries. She has five Betty Mitchell awards for acting and composing, a Greater Victoria Critic’s choice award for outstanding score, and was a 2024 Avenue magazine Top 40 under 40. She wrote and performed the original song, Try, for episode 6 of CBC’s HUDSON, scored the last five seasons of A Christmas Carol at Theatre Calgary, and recently released a solo pop version of her original song Little Flames, written for A Christmas Carol. She recently composed 7 documentary shorts for a sound installation in the new Calgary Stampede museum, the SAM Centre. Darren Young - Sound Associate

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound designer, music director, and educator Darren Young is an exciting artist with a diverse palette. He has been a featured performer with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, New Music Edmonton, New Works Calgary, Kensington Sinfonia, Instrumental Society of Calgary, and Theatre Calgary. Darren is a core member of the experimental music collective Timepoint Ensemble and with them has given premieres of many new compositions. He also performs and records regularly as a member of the bands Diatessaron, Jung People, and Lucky Sonne. His compositions and sound designs have been heard in productions and installations across Canada. Darren recently composed music for Exile, a live dance show choreographed by Meghann Michalsky, which premiered at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in February 2025. He is the President of the Classical Guitar Society of Calgary and has been on faculty at the MRU Conservatory since 2019.

Tawni Marie Evans - Costume Design Mentee

Tawni Marie is so grateful for the opportunity to be a mentee with ATP and this amazing team. A graduate of Olds College Costume Cutting and Construction program, she started out designing for independent theatre. Most notably, The Wedding Singer with Front Row Centre players and Zastrozzi: Master of Discipline with Scorpio Theatre. Tawni Marie, also works in film and television and is part of the costume team for Heartland. Other film and television projects include Billy the Kid, Fargo and The Last of Us. Theatre holds a special place in Tawni’s heart and she so pleased to help make magic on stage.
