Access to ATP and The Martha Cohen Theatre this Holiday Season
Between Arts Commons, the Telus Convention Centre and Olympic Plaza, there is a lot going on – some of which might affect your usual route to the theatre. We’ve outlined a couple of events coming up that affect +15 access and the roads around Arts Commons – so please be sure to have a look before your performance date arrives.
Alberta Theatre Projects Office
ATP’s office (including the Ticket Office) will be closed from December 23rd – January 1st
But not to worry – you can still purchase tickets to Charlotte’s Web online or at the Arts Commons Box Office during their scheduled hours.
Parking
It’s always a good idea to leave a little bit of extra time to get places in the winter! Being part of a multi-theatre venue, parking in the areas around the theatre can get congested very quickly. Please plan to arrive at least a half-hour before your show time to allow yourself ample time to park and arrive at the theatre. We’d hate for you to miss a single moment of the performance!
It’s Show Time!
Attending a weekend performance of Charlotte’s Web? Be sure to double-check your performance start time on your ticket. Weekend evening performances begin at 6:00pm and weekend matinees begin at 1:00pm.
+15 Closures
The Telus Convention Centre is closing the +15 walkway between Arts Commons and the Glenbow Museum from Dec. 18 – 25 in order to replace the carpet in those areas.
Road Closures
If you’re attending a performance of Charlotte’s Web between Dec. 28 and Dec. 31, the City of Calgary will be closing some roads around Arts Commons as they set up for their sixth annual New Year’s Eve Celebration in Olympic Plaza.
The Arts Commons parkade will remain open and accessible, but traffic patterns on the surrounding roads will change slightly, so please leave yourself a little extra time and drive carefully.
Roads Closed:
- Left lane closure and sidewalk closure on MacLeod Trail (northbound) from 28th to Jan. 2nd
- Full road closure of MacLeod Trail (northbound) between 6th and 8th from 9:00am Dec. 30th to Jan. 1st
