Update on the 2020-21 Season
The Grand Theatre has announced the postponement of all planned presentations of its production of Cabaret in the upcoming Canadian theatre season. Unfortunately, this means the run of Cabaret, scheduled here at Alberta Theatre Projects from April 14 to May 2, 2021, has been postponed.
While we are deeply saddened by this announcement, it is an important development in a wider ongoing conversation about the shape our 2020-2021 season will take in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
As you may expect, this process must take into consideration many complex, dynamic factors. They include:
- Ongoing recommendations from public health officials with regard to large gatherings.
- Building-wide protocols as dictated by our home in Arts Commons.
- The impact of our province’s phased re-opening on the level of COVID-19 cases.
Our desire to bring you world-class contemporary theatre is matched only by a steadfast commitment to the health and safety of our audiences, staff and artists. In the coming weeks, we will be announcing how we can dovetail these priorities to create a unique theatrical experience for you in our upcoming season. To aid in this, please consider filling in the survey by clicking the button below – an opportunity for you to tell us how you feel about coming back to the theatre.
Thank you for your continued support as we move through these unprecedented times. Please note that our box office staff are currently operating from home in a reduced capacity, and may not be able to return inquiries in a timely manner. As we work through these programming adjustments, your patience and understanding are truly appreciated. If you have already renewed your subscription to our 2020-2021 Season, rest assured your tickets will be honoured at full value.
At this time, all sales, renewals, and bookings of subscriptions, flex passes, single tickets, gift ticket vouchers, and student matinees are on hold until our programming adjustments are confirmed and announced.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have reached out with kind words and financial support over the last few months. We are so grateful to you. Any gift to Alberta Theatre Projects right now comes at a critical time.
Please stay tuned for the next steps in this ongoing journey. I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and look forward to seeing you in the theatre again soon.
