Theatre for everyone

ATP is working with partners in our community with the aim of making theatre accessible to all Calgarians. Everyone should be able to experience the magic and joy of live performance.

Have a look at some of the programs below, and share this post with anyone in your life who you think might be interested!

Accessible Performances

Stayed tuned to our Accessible Performances page for upcoming accessible performances including American Sign Language translated performances, audio-described performances, relaxed performances, and touch tours.

There will be a relaxed performance of ZORRO: Family Code Tuesday, December 11 at 11:30am. Not sure whether a relaxed performance is for you? Call our Ticket Office at 403-294-7402.

Information on the accessibility features of the Martha Cohen Theatre such as wheelchair and limited mobility access, assisted listening devices, service dogs and aide tickets can be found HERE.

Pay-What-You-Can Previews and That $10 Ticket Thing

One performance per show is That $10 Ticket Thing (presented by TD Canada Trust), offering students of any age with a valid student ID the chance to experience live theatre for just $10. That $10 Ticket Thing tickets can be purchased in advance online or through our Ticket Office: 403-294-7402

New for the 2018-19 season, the first Tuesday performance of every show (with the exception of Café Daughter) is a Pay-What-You-Can Preview. First Tuesday Pay-What-You-Can tickets must be purchased at the door up to one hour before the performance, from available seating.

Sun Life Arts & Culture Pass

Calgary Public Library and Sun Life Financial offer this made-in-Calgary opportunity that makes it possible for low-income Calgarians to enjoy arts and culture events – including shows at Alberta Theatre Projects!

The Sun Life Financial Arts + Culture Pass is available to anyone (individuals and families) who has a City of Calgary Recreation Fee Assistance card (which qualifies individuals and families for financial support and for eligibility) and a valid Calgary Public Library card. To receive free event tickets and admission passes, both cards must be presented in person at one of Calgary Public Library’s 18 community libraries.

For more information on the City of Calgary Recreation Fee Assistance card, visit the City of Calgary Recreation Fee Assistance Program.

 Cultural Access Pass Tickets

Alberta Theatre Projects is proud to once again be partnering with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship to offer free tickets to ATP performances for Cultural Access Pass holders during our season.

The Cultural Access Pass (CAP) is an initiative set up through the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) to encourage new Canadian citizens to explore, travel, and discover Canada during their first year of citizenship.
